my daily mail I come across the above mentioned heading. Two words caught
my attention they are Supper atomic Nickel and unusual molecular properties.
Supper and unusual properties are point to ponder and require more detail
investigations. Super atoms are important structural elements in
nanoscale organization and they possess unique physical and chemical properties
and always differ from their parent molecules.
Superatom is a combination of two or more atoms that form a stable structural fragment. Their properties are different unique
physical, chemical properties and unusual chemical reactivity.
Superatom
acts as a single unit and is left unchanged during the reaction. As a result,
it would be logical to consider superatoms as an elements of periodic table in
nanoscale world.
Area of application of superatoms are in
catalysis, material sciences, organometallic chemistry, and medical research.
