Micro Farming at home

     Peripheral urban agriculture (U P A) and Urban agriculture (U A) are comprises a variety of agriculture production or livelihood systems ranging from subsistence production and processing at the household level. In this write up I used UPA word for urban agriculture also. In agriculture production we consider only vegetable production. Vegetable comes under the subject horticulture and it is a very small part of Agriculture. Vegetables are may be fruits or any other parts of plant which are edible.

Sustainable urban development (SUD).can be achieved by  peri-urban agriculture (UPA) very easily and it contributes to social, economic and ecological development of society or nature.More detail information can be found in

There are many videos are in you tube. My experience with growing vegetable  home in pot and at roof top. It is one of the  most memorable moment of life. Roof top gardening or or growing plant or vegetable also help to reduce temperature of roof. Plant act as heat sink.

Few suggestions which I learn from my experience.

1    Soil black or any soil is mixed with equal part Farm Yard Manure compost. Four parts of above mixture and one part of sand. Sand will take care of drainage. Pot hole must cover with small gravels so that water outlet is never choked. Water will carry air and drainage of water will take care of presence air in soil. Air is required by root of plant.

2        Soil level is one and half inch less than tip of edge of pot/container.

3        Insert a stick so that plant can take support when needed.

4        Put seed or  sidling in center and give some water.

5        Put a container so that run of water can store in it.

6        Root can suck water by capillary action from container.

7        Some time water from container or some time from soil will make soil make rich in air.

8        Add micro nutrient spray periodically. For this use liquid cow dung with oil cake.

9    Use very very little amount of chemical fertilizer. Or better do not use. Cow dung liquid manure will take care of all the requirements

10    To achieve pollination plant many flowering plants.

11    Grow two or three different type of plant in one pot.

12    My tested combination is tomato with mint or Plak.

13    Brinjal with dhaniya and Lanlab beans

14     (Botel groud Cucumber, Gourds- Bitter gourd), ( mint dhaniya ) and mirch

Reading my daily mail I come across the above mentioned  heading. Two words caught my attention they are Supper atomic Nickel and unusual molecular properties. Supper and unusual properties are point to ponder and require more detail investigations. Super atoms are important structural elements in nanoscale organization and they possess unique physical and chemical properties and always differ from their parent molecules.

Superatom is a combination of two or more atoms that form a stable structural fragment. Their properties are different   unique physical, chemical properties and unusual chemical reactivity. 

Superatom acts as a single unit and is left unchanged during the reaction. As a result, it would be logical to consider superatoms as an elements of periodic table in nanoscale world.

Area of application of superatoms are in catalysis, material sciences, organometallic chemistry, and medical research.
